Oscars 2026: Celebs Leave Dolby Theatre Covered in Trash

Oscars 2026 ended with a far less polished image than the one viewers saw on screen. A viral after-party X post showed upper Dolby Theatre rows littered with bottles, cartons, wrappers, and other debris. The 98th Oscars were held there on March 15, honoring films released in 2025. The contrast between the live telecast and the empty room was hard to miss. By morning, the glamorous set looked like the end of a very long night.

Photo shows Dolby Theatre turned into a messy scene following Oscars 2026

In the image, curved rows of burgundy seats frame aisles covered with leftover event clutter. Several water bottles sit near chair legs. Food boxes and paper scraps appear across multiple sections. Meanwhile, only a few people are visible inside the auditorium. The mess appears concentrated in the upper seating area, well away from the stage. That detail separates the photo from the polished ceremony viewers watched. By contrast, the auditorium photo showed no glamour at all.

Still, the awards themselves delivered clear headline results. The Academy’s official list shows “One Battle after Another” won Best Picture and Best Director. Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor for “Sinners,” while Jessie Buckley won Best Actress for “Hamnet.” Meanwhile, Amy Madigan won supporting actress, and Sean Penn won supporting actor. In addition, a rare tie landed in a live-action short film. Both “The Singers” and “Two People Exchanging Saliva” took the category. The ceremony was hosted by Conan O’Brien.

Afterwards, the celebrations moved across Los Angeles. Sources reported that guests first headed to the Governors Ball after leaving the theater. Later, many made their way to Vanity Fair’s party at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

The First-time winners, such as Jordan, Buckley, and Madigan, joined the afterparty circuit. It also highlighted celebrity guests, including Timothée Chalamet, Kylie Jenner, Dua Lipa, Callum Turner, and Jane Fonda. The post-show circuit included cocktails, sea bass, Domino’s pizza, and In-N-Out burgers. So, even as the theater sat messy, Oscar night continued elsewhere in full dress.
