Nancy Guthrie Case Sheriff Made Crucial Error With ‘Target’ Confession — Expert

Savannah Guthrie’s mom, Nancy Guthrie, took an interesting turn when case Sheriff Chris Nanos shared that they have a “strong belief” about the abductor’s motive, adding that the suspect might strike again. However, after listening to the Sheriff’s statement, an expert has pointed out that Nano made a critical error with his target statement, which could have been avoided.

Expert explains how Nancy Guthrie case Sheriff Chris Nanos’ error with ‘target’ statement

Sheriff Nanos believes Nancy Guthrie kidnapping 'was targeted'

With every passing day, the kidnapping case of Nancy Guthrie is getting more intense. However, shedding more light on the situation, Sheriff Chris Nanos had earlier stated to NBC News that they have potential knowledge of the abductor’s motive.

Meanwhile, speaking to Liz Kreutz, the Sheriff even admitted that the suspect might strike again, and they “believe” why the abductor “did this” and are also certain it was a “targeted” attack. However, the Sheriff refused to share any details on his theory, citing the “integrity of the investigation.”

Now, a former FBI agent, Jason Pack, told Page Six that Nanos made an error with his statement. As per the expert, it got “complicated” when, in that same interview, the Sheriff “suggests the suspect could strike again. Once you put that out there, every person watching wants to know who’s at risk and what they ought to do about it.”

“If you can’t answer those questions, you probably shouldn’t lead with that statement. A warning without context doesn’t necessarily protect people. It worries them. And it sits a little uneasily alongside the ‘targeted attack’ framing he’s also offered,” said Pack, adding, “Those two ideas need to fit together before they go out the door.”

However, the expert defended Nanos for not revealing a motive in the interview, saying, “When the Sheriff says investigators believe they know the motive but won’t share it, there’s an investigative reason. This is it. You don’t hand the suspect a roadmap of what you know. I have no quarrel with that.”
