Nicole Kidman recently revealed the name of the person she will be attending this year’s Met Gala with, and it’s none other than one of her family members. She also expressed her excitement about co-chairing the event for the third time and shared her enthusiasm for meeting one particular person from the music industry. The latest comments about the Met Gala come just over two months after her divorce from ex-husband Keith Urban was finalized.
Nicole Kidman talks about her Met Gala date
During her conversation on the “Las Culturistas” podcast, Nicole Kidman opened up about her thoughts on co-chairing the Met Gala for the third time and who her date would be for fashion’s biggest night. She said, “And this is—I think it’s the third time I’ve co-chaired—but to do it now? I’m so, so happy, and my daughter Sunday will be coming.” Kidman shares two daughters — Sunday, 17, and Faith, 15 — with her ex-husband, Keith Urban. She revealed that her eldest daughter is very fond of fashion.
Mentioning how her daughter is pursuing her love for fashion, the mother of two added, “She’s actually just walked the Dior show. Yeah, she’s flying back from Paris now.” Kidman refused to take credit for Sunday’s professional career by saying, “It’s her own, whole world… and it’s incredible.” The Oscar winner had previously co-chaired the Met Gala in 2003 and 2005, respectively. However, this year, she is most excited to meet her fellow co-chair, Beyoncé.
In an earlier conversation with Variety, the “Babygirl” actress expressed optimism about 2026 being her year. When the interviewer pointed out that every year seems to be her year and asked why she believes this one stands out, she clarified that she doesn’t consider last year to have been hers. “Well, not last year. I was quiet. I had other things going on. I was in my shell… Now I’m in a place of saying, ‘2026. Here we go.’ I have ‘Practical Magic’ with Sandy. I’ll be in full witch mode,” she explained.
The Met Gala will take place on May 4.
