Donald Trump’s Job Approval Rating Remains Low Amid Iran War

The job approval rating of Donald Trump has hit a new low amid the war against Iran, which has led to extensive loss of life. In a poll conducted after he announced military operations against Iran, only 38 percent of 1,515 participants expressed satisfaction with his job. On the other hand, 59 percent of respondents approved of the President’s performance.

Here’s what Donald Trump’s job approval rating says

A new poll by the Economist/YouGov shows that Donald Trump’s job approval rating has hit -21, which is lower than it was at first. This comes amid the escalating war against Iran, which the President announced in February 2026.

The Economist/YouGov poll, conducted from March 6 to 9, found that only 40 percent of 1,563 participants approved of Trump’s job performance. On the other hand, 55 percent aren’t happy with his performance. Moreover, the findings indicate that 23 percent of respondents strongly approve of his job, whereas 48 percent strongly disapprove of his performance. The poll results also show that 17 percent somewhat approve of the US President’s job performance. However, 7 percent of all the respondents somewhat disapprove of his performance.

Based on the poll, Trump’s approval rating stands at -14. Even though it is higher than last week’s, his average net approval rating remains comparatively low.

The poll findings come amid the war that the United States and Israel are fighting against Iran. Recently, CNBC reported that Trump stated the war might end soon. He conveyed, “We’re achieving major strides toward completing our military objective. We’ve wiped every single force in Iran out, very completely. They have no leadership. It’s all been blown up. We will hit them so hard that it will not be possible for them or anybody else helping them to ever recover that section of the world.”
