Donald Trump recently spoke to members of the GOP, praising his wife, Melania Trump, and calling her a movie star following the release of her documentary. Melania’s documentary titled ‘Melania’ was released in theaters in the US on January 30, 2026. Despite backing from a major studio like Amazon MGM, the documentary failed to impress critics.

US President Donald Trump recently spoke at his golf club, Trump National Doral, when he lauded his wife, Melania, and her movie as he addressed the House Republicans.
Trump recalled how he went back home one day, all proud that drug prices were going down, and spoke to Melania. According to C-SPAN, he changed his course of words and took a moment out of his speech to praise the First Lady and stated, “I was so proud and went home and told the great first lady, who’s now a movie star. Can you believe it? That movie was hot. And it is hot. She became a movie star. It was good movie.”
This is not the first time Trump has referred to Melania as a movie star. In February 2026, during his Board of Peace event, the President lauded Melania for his work. However, he also referred to himself as a star and warned that it was difficult for two of them to live under the same roof.
Trump said, “She has a very successful movie out right now, like number one. Can you believe this? Big movie star, and I always say it’s trouble, because I always say there’s not room in one family for two stars. I told her that we can’t have two stars in one family, so I don’t know what that means, but it’s not, it’s not good. The theaters are all packed. Women, especially, they go back, and they see it two or three times, four times.”
