Ex-Prince Andrew’s Daughters Will ‘Fade Into the Background,’ Says Expert

Ex-Prince Andrew’s daughters are facing a tougher royal path, and one expert says, “I think they’ll just fade into the background.” That line now sums up the latest warning around Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie’s future place in the Royal Family.

As per a recent report, royal writer Richard Palmer believes the sisters risk losing royal titles over time. He also said the pair may have to give up privileges, palace homes, and more public access as the monarchy keeps narrowing.

Ex-Prince Andrew’s daughters only get privileges for being Royal Family members, says expert

Royal writer Palmer told Mirror that the former Prince Andrew’s daughters are already being pushed further out. He said, “In my view, in the future, they will end up losing their royal titles.” He also added, “I think we’re going to see a lot less of them.” In turn, he said they will likely “fade into the background.” The report tied that view to upcoming royal events. It said the sisters were reportedly told they would not be invited to Royal Ascot, which could mark the first of several visible exclusions.

Meanwhile, Palmer argued the bigger issue is not just attendance, but public confusion. He said, “Being princesses who are non-working royals is confusing for people already because they have titles but they don’t do anything for the monarchy.” He added, “They don’t do anything for the nation.” Then he made his sharpest point. “They’re essentially just private individuals who get privileges of being members of the royal family.” He added that those women are “probably going to have to say goodbye to some of those privileges.” That is why the royal titles debate now sits beside the wider slimmed-down monarchy push under King Charles.

However, the report said the practical losses could be just as important. Princess Beatrice rents an apartment inside St James’s Palace. Princess Eugenie lives at Ivy Cottage in the Kensington Palace grounds. Palmer said the “market rents” for those homes are not equal to similar nearby properties. He also said the public is becoming less willing to accept that setup. Even so, he suggested the sisters may eventually prefer a quieter route. Palmer said they could “relish shedding the royal links” and getting on with work, marriages, and family life behind the scenes.
