Critics are sounding the alarm after President Donald Trump issued a warning to Iran over social media, with some calling for his impeachment. His latest remarks threaten devastating consequences if Tehran moves to block oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.
Donald Trump called out for recent Iran threats
On March 9 on Truth Social, Trump vowed retaliation against any Iranian action that would impede oil flow through the strategic waterway. “If Iran does anything that stops the flow of Oil within the Strait of Hormuz. They will be hit by the United States of America TWENTY TIMES HARDER than they have been hit thus far,” Donald Trump wrote.
The president’s threat extended beyond military action, promising devastating consequences for Iran’s infrastructure. Additionally, he characterized his warning as “a gift” to China and other nations that rely heavily on the Strait of Hormuz for oil imports.
Critics quickly flooded X with reactions, calling out Donald Trump’s language and apparent inconsistencies. One user wrote: “What grabs your attention first the threat of war crimes or the ‘reign’ spelling?” Another demanded: “He needs to be impeached. He’s terribly unstable, reckless and compromised by a foreign government. It’s time. Preferably before he hits the big red button.”
A third commentator pointed to Trump’s earlier statements, noting: “Doesn’t sound like this war is very ‘very complete.'” Another wrote: “So we will commit war crimes in Iran as a gesture of goodwill to China? Seriously, how does any person with decency support this person anymore? Look what he is doing. Listen to his insanity. Even if you share his hatred, shouldn’t his incompetence and selfishness warn you off?”

Iran has responded to the U.S.-Israeli military campaign by threatening to attack ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. It effectively cuts off some 20% of the world’s oil.
