Jack Schlossberg, a Democratic Party member who is also the only grandson of former President John F. Kennedy (JFK), has called out Donald Trump for leveraging the presidency to get rich. The 33-year-old politician lambasted the current US President for seemingly exploiting his position for personal gains, going as far as to say that Trump has been “picking” the American people’s pockets.
Jack Schlossberg slams Donald Trump in new interview
During a recent conversation, JFK’s grandson claimed that the country is currently going through a multi-layered predicament.
“We’re in a three-part crisis — a cost crisis, a corruption crisis, and a constitutional crisis,” Jack Schlossberg said on Ben Meiselas’ MeidasTouch podcast.
Adding to his issues with the rampant corruption, Schlossberg said, “This president has made upwards of $4 billion this year. His son is sitting on boards of tons of publicly traded companies. He himself has his own currency that he has issued. We need to step up and do something about this because if this becomes the new normal and the president is able to trademark America’s birthday and issue his own currency while weakening the dollar, having gold skyrocket, and increasing prices on basically every commodity and input cost in our economy, we’re getting screwed, and he’s getting rich.”
The political commentator and author further added, “It’s a slap in the face with one hand, and he’s picking our pockets with the other.”
According to a January by The New York Times, Donald Trump has increased his family’s wealth by $1.4 billion since taking office for the second time. JFK’s grandson, who is currently running for Congress in New York, also reminded citizens that it is imperative for them to contain the businessman-turned-politician.
Jack Schlossberg stated, “People are understanding that Trump is not for them, even if he thought he was. But we can’t underestimate the stakes right now.” He also added, “This is our last chance to stop Trump. We don’t know what happens if the Democratic Party doesn’t win back the House…They are going to try dirty tricks. They’re going to try to nationalize the election. Trump is going to try to stay for a third term…We can’t afford to see what happens. We have to take it into our own hands.”
Meanwhile, Donald Trump has yet to comment on Schlossberg’s statement regarding him.
