Ex-Prince Andrew’s Staff ‘Draw Straws’ Over Job That Nobody Wants — Source

Ex-Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who is currently residing at Sandringham Estate, will move to Marsh Farm home soon. Reports suggest that the former prince, who is used to having a lavish life, will be accompanied by only a chef and a valet at his new residence. Amid this, sources say that the royal staff has to “draw straws” to decide who will serve him.

Staff reluctant to work for Ex-Prince Andrew, draw straws to decide, says source

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor moved to Sandringham Estate after he was asked to vacate the Royal Lodge on King Charles’ orders. However, he moved there temporarily, as renovations are currently going on at his new home at Marsh Farm. Radar Online reports that the royal staff are apparently drawing straws to decide who would serve the former Duke of York. In fact, no one wants the job.

Earlier, too, it was reported that his staff was reluctant to address him as “Sir.” A source familiar with the situation said that since Andrew has lost his titles, him ordering his staff to call him “Sir” is an egoistic move.

Another source added that the staff wasn’t clear as to how to address him after his titles were removed. However, clear rules have been laid now that he will be called “Sir” and nothing more, explains the source.

Insiders share that Andrew will now be supported by just two staff members, including a chef and a valet. Notably, he has been accustomed to a lavish life at Royal Lodge. A source claims that the royal staff is uncomfortable being assigned to Andrew’s reduced household, as they, too, are used to defined hierarchies.

Moreover, being assigned to Andrew, who has been involved in controversies recently, carries some “reputational sensitivity.” The source added that the staff showed “reluctance” when it was asked who would serve him at Marsh Farm.
