Today show staff shared emotional moments with Savannah Guthrie upon her return

Savannah Guthrie visited the sets of the Today show on Thursday to meet her colleagues, leaving everyone teary-eyed. Guthrie has been a long-time host at the show, but took a step back due to the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie, who is believed to have been kidnapped from her Arizona home.

According to a spokesperson, “Savannah Guthrie stopped by the studio this morning to be with and thank her TODAY colleagues,” as reported by NBC News. “While she plans to return to the show on air, she remains focused right now supporting her family and working to help bring Nancy home,” they said, as per Hola.

Even Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones shared the emotional moments on “Today with Jenna & Sheinelle.” “Savannah has come back to her home here at 30 Rock in Studio 1A,” said a teary-eyed Bush Hager.

She further revealed that the longtime co-host “talked to all of us, hugged every single person in this room, the crew.” Bush Hager also confirmed that Guthrie said that she wants to return to the show even though it feels tough. She feels like the studio is also her home, where she feels loved. “And she is beyond loved here. So we’re happy she’s home. I don’t know when she’s actually returning to the show. But she was here and that felt so good to get to hug her,” Bush Hager added.

Jones expressed that she is “proud of Savannah.” “I know the strength it would take to even just come in here and to be amongst all of us. And so I see it as we’re in this storm and we’re not out of the storm but there’s a light somewhere even in the midst of the storm,” she added.

Guthrie also received a warm hug and kiss from her former co-host, Hoda Kotb.
