The View once again practiced its policy of redacting all obscene language on air by censoring long-term host Whoopi Goldberg during a recent episode. While engaging in a conversation with the Hot Topics panel about Bill Gates’ alleged involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein controversy, Goldberg, in a moment of passion, used a slang term for the male genitalia, forcing ABC to mute audio for a brief period.
Whoopi Goldberg censored on The View during Bill Gates discussion
On the latest episode of the long-running talk show, the diverse group of panelists initiated a discussion regarding the recent developments in the Jeffrey Epstein case.
Talking about the freshly published information about Bill Gates in the scandal on the February 26 episode of The View, guest co-host, CNBC news anchor Sara Eisen, noted that the Microsoft co-founder had “apologized to his staff and admitted he had affairs with Russian women and didn’t do anything illicit.
Eisen later marvelled at the supposed “incredible hold that Jeffrey Epstein had over” tech moguls whose names have popped up in the files. “These are not vulnerable people. They relied on him,” she said, adding, “There are a lot of questions there.”
Whoopi Goldberg then noted that she wasn’t surprised by Gates’ connection to Epstein, stating, “We see this all the time. People who are very, very powerful will look for the person who’s more powerful than them. It just happens. That’s why you always hear about the guys that you never see, but they’ve got the money, and they’re taking care of a lot of folks.”
Sunny Hostin chimed in by asking, “The question still remains: Why did they give him that much money?” An enraged Goldberg instantly responded by saying, “Because he had him by the —” before The View abruptly censored her. Trying to bring back order, Hostin reminded that the Gates Foundation “has denied giving any money to Jeffrey Epstein.”
Undeterred by her co-host’s intervention, the Sister Act star continued her onslaught on Gates. “Listen, when you give your power over to somebody, when you give people power over your being, they can use it however they want to, convince you to do anything. You don’t want to take the chance that they do have it. So you pay them,” she said, prompting Hostin to clarify, “We’re not implying that that happened.”
According to The Wall Street Journal, Bill Gates stated at the Gates Foundation Town Hall that he wasn’t involved in any illicit activities. This comes after his name came up in the recently released Epstein files.
