In a bold move that’s sending shockwaves through the snacking world, Doritos has just dropped a game-changer. The iconic brand is shaking things up with a brand-new innovation that’s all about fueling fitness goals. Doritos has launched a new line of protein-focused chips that are redefining the snacking experience.
Doritos’ new chips will help you get your protein intake
The new protein-packed chips from Doritos are designed to fuel an active lifestyle, making it easier to hit daily protein targets without compromising on flavor.
As per PepsiCo Foods, the new chips offer consumers another snacking option that keeps the classic Doritos taste intact. They’re meant to be a snack, not a meal replacement or performance fuel. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect, considering 86% of Americans are adding more protein to their diets.
Doritos Protein is coming in two flavors: Nacho Cheese and Sweet & Tangy BBQ. These chips are packed with dairy-based protein (casein) and have no artificial colors or flavors, all while keeping the brand’s signature crunch and taste intact.
Hernán Tantardini, Chief Marketing Officer, PepsiCo Foods U.S., said in a statement, “This innovation underscores PepsiCo Foods’ commitment to evolving its portfolio to meet shifting consumer preferences toward foods with functional ingredients.” He further revealed that 70% of consumers want protein in their salty snacks. Hence, they’re making it accessible without messing with the Doritos vibe.
Tantardini shared that the Doritos Protein launch expands their presence in the protein snack category. They’re boosting the bold flavor while adding protein – 10g per one-ounce serving, and a single-serve bag with 17g is coming later this year.
The announcement follows closely on the heels of Doritos’ unveiling of its Flavor Swap lineup. It is a collaborative effort with prominent content creators IShowSpeed, Madison Beer, and Dude Perfect.
Doritos Protein’s Nacho Cheese and Sweet & Tangy BBQ flavours will launch at select U.S. retailers in March. Wider availability is expected later this year.
