Gavin Newsom Says JD Vance ‘Scares’ Him More Than Donald Trump

California Governor Gavin Newsom has fired shots at the Donald Trump administration, specifically the current US Vice President, JD Vance. In a recent interview, he bashed several of Trump’s allies, calling them out for supporting the businessman-turned-politician despite publicly acknowledging the dangers of his approach in the past.

During a recent sit-down, the Democratic Party veteran shared his opinion on the 41-year-old politician, stating that he scared him more than Trump.

“Vance, for whatever reason, scares me almost more than Trump,” Gavin Newsom told MS NOW’s Jen Psaki. “Talk about a guy who put a mask on, and his face grew into it. I mean, JD Vance and Marco Rubio were two of the most effective critics — just like that guy…Graham Lindsay — of Donald Trump.”

Notably, JD Vance has slammed Donald Trump on multiple occasions in the past, even claiming that the Republican had the potential to become “America’s Hitler” (via Reuters). Similarly, Marco Rubio, who currently serves as the Secretary of State, had once described Trump as a “con artist,” per CNN.

“What frauds! What phonies! But JD’s a unique fraud and phony, and he’s a little more dangerous,” Newsom remarked. He also highlighted one of the POTUS’ tactics in dealing with the public, stating, “What he does, he tests all this. [Trump] throws the stuff out, sees how you’re going to react. If you don’t react, all of a sudden, it’s socialized. Now it’s normalized.”

Gavin Newsom then urged people not to give the president a free pass by saying, ‘Trump’s being Trump,’ going as far as to say that these are perhaps “the most damning words in the English language right now.”

The 58-year-old subsequently shifted focus to “the folks at Fox News,” describing them as a “disgrace” for not calling Donald Trump out. “They’re complicit because they’re making a ton of money because that’s all it’s about,” the Governor of California exclaimed.
