Rebecca Gayheart shared several family photos on her Instagram Story featuring Eric Dane and their children, beautifully arranged on a table with candles and a bouquet of white flowers.
In the caption, the actress penned, “I am so blown away by the outpouring of love and support from our community. There aren’t words to express our gratitude. You are truly holding us up during this difficult time.”
The actress, who married Dane in 2004, also expressed her gratitude to everyone who has supported the family through the GoFundMe page. Dane’s friends launched the campaign shortly after his death to support his two young daughters, Billie and Georgia.
Gayheart had reportedly filed for divorce in 2018, but had it dismissed in March 2025, shortly before Dane publicly announced his amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) diagnosis.
After a months-long battle with the disease, Eric Dane passed away on February 19, 2026. His family had confirmed the news, saying, “With heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon following a courageous battle with ALS. He spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world. “
The statement continued, “Throughout his journey with ALS, Eric became a passionate advocate for awareness and research, determined to make a difference for others facing the same fight. He will be deeply missed, and lovingly remembered always. Eric adored his fans and is forever grateful for the outpouring of love and support he’s received. The family has asked for privacy as they navigate this impossible time (via PEOPLE).”
