Travis Kelce confessed that he explained the logistics of golf to Taylor Swift. In the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, Kelce dished that playing at the event was a dream come true for him and that he thoroughly enjoyed playing golf. He revealed that he was particularly looking forward to playing at the 16th Hole and referred to it as his “Mecca.”
However, Kelce revealed that his partner Swift isn’t too fond of the sport and does not understand the game well. Hence, he took it upon himself to explain what it means to him and why he wanted to play at the venue.
The Chiefs tight end revealed to his brother, Jason, “There are unbelievable courses all over the world, but if I could ever get a shot at the 16th hole at Waste Management, I can’t pass that up. I was telling Taylor, like, ‘No, sweetie. I have to go. I’m sorry. I have to do this.’ This is the mecca. This is like reaching the Super Bowl of the golf world, and it was, and it didn’t disappoint.”
He added further, “The Waste Management crowd is so lit and so excited and so there for those moments that it didn’t disappoint. It was so much fun.” Swift may not have attended, but the commentators ensured her presence was felt at the venue.
Kelce’s viral golf moment prompted the commentators to make a witty Taylor Swift song reference. Golf Channel’s Eamon Lynch remarked, “I think Taylor Swift is going to write a song about that one,” as the NFL star relished the crowd’s cheering for him.
Eagle-eyed fans were quick to note that Taylor Swift liked the post, affirming her love for her fiancé’s golfing talent.
