Once Upon a Time in Hollywood sequel, The Adventures of Cliff Booth, gets first teaser
A one-minute teaser for The Adventures of Cliff Booth, the sequel to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, aired during Super Bowl LX on February 8, 2026.
The film is directed by David Fincher and written by Quentin Tarantino. It features Brad Pitt reprising his Oscar-winning role as stuntman Cliff Booth. In the teaser, Pitt’s character says, “I don’t possess many talents, but I know better than to get in the way of a good story.”
The teaser features retro music and shows Booth icing his knee, relaxing at a bar, and driving a derby car on a dirt track. Cliff interacts with new characters played by Elizabeth Debicki and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. The footage flashes nudity, profanity, guns, and cigarettes, all censored in a comedic style. In one shot, Cliff places an Oscar on his desk, referencing Brad Pitt’s 2019 Academy Award.
The story follows Cliff Booth in the 1970s, after his time as Rick Dalton’s stunt double. The film takes place after the events of the original, where Booth and Dalton stopped the Manson murders.
Leonardo DiCaprio does not appear in the sequel. The cast features Carla Gugino, Scott Caan, Holt McCallany, Peter Weller, JB Tadena, and Timothy Olyphant, who reprises his role as James Stacy.
Quentin Tarantino wrote the screenplay but declined to direct. On The Church of Tarantino podcast, he said, “I love this script, but I’m still walking down the same ground I’ve already walked. It just kind of unenthused me.” He added, “This last movie, I’ve got to not know what I’m doing again. I’ve got to be in uncharted territory.”
Tarantino, Brad Pitt, David Heyman, Ceán Chaffin, and Stacey Sher produced the film. Erik Messerschmidt handled the cinematography. The production team shot the film on location in Los Angeles.
