Former Prince Andrew has left the Royal Lodge earlier than expected following the ongoing controversy. As per reports, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor vacated his 30-room mansion earlier this week and is now staying at Wood Farm. However, as per an expert, the future monarch, “Prince William has long wanted Andrew as far away from Windsor.”
Prince William wanted to keep Ex-Prince Andrew as far away as possible, says expert
Ex-prince was expected to move out of the Royal Lodge in “early 2026.” However, following the ongoing scandal, his departure was expedited. As a result, he left the luxurious mansion on Monday night and moved to a temporary home on the Sandringham estate, as his permanent residence, Marsh Farm, is currently undergoing renovations.
“Andrew’s original departure was scheduled to be around Easter, but it was instead brought forward in the dead of night,” a British royal expert, Hilary Fordwich, told Fox News Digital.
The expert further added that his move was much-awaited as Prince William wanted him long gone amid the scandal. “Prince William has long wanted Andrew as far away from Windsor as absolutely possible.”
Even “King Charles is exasperated with the fallout,” but the monarch is “putting on a brave face,” as per British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard.
Although the former prince has moved out of the property, his time at Sandringham might not be easy, as servants have been told that “they don’t have to serve Andrew or work for him if they feel uncomfortable,” adding, “There is already quite a list saying no thanks.”
“There is understandably a lot of disquiet as he is now a total pariah,” a source told the Sun. Additionally, there is “also a worry that once he gets comfortable at Wood Farm while Marsh Farm is being finished, they will never get him out again.”
