Billie Eilish’s Brother Slams ‘Powerful Old White Men’ Over Grammys Backlash

Besides the stunning performances and the show-stopping fashion, the 2026 Grammys will be remembered for the poignant speeches. One speech, in particular, has sparked a heated debate, with Billie Eilish‘s brother coming out swinging to defend her. He notably called out “powerful old white men” for criticizing her bold anti-ICE speech.

Finneas reacts to criticism leveled against sister Billie Eilish After Grammys

Finneas is speaking out in Billie Eilish’s defense after she faced backlash for her anti-ICE speech at the 2026 Grammys.

Eilish’s brother and collaborator slammed “powerful old white men” for criticizing her. “Seeing a lot of very powerful old white men outraged about what my 24 year old sister said during her acceptance speech. We can literally see your names in the Epstein files,” Finneas wrote on Threads on Wednesday, February 4.

Billie Eilish won Song of the Year for Wildflower and Finneas, the song’s co-writer/producer, shared the stage with her. The 24-year-old took to the stage to address the critical issue of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and its impact on communities, stating “No one is illegal on stolen land” and “F**k ICE”.

“As grateful as I feel, I honestly don’t feel like I need to say anything but that no one is illegal on stolen land,” the Bellyache singer said. “And yeah it’s just really hard to know what to say and what to do right now and I just feel really hopeful in this room and I feel like we need to just keep fighting and speaking up and protesting. Our voices really do matter and people matter,” she added.

Billie Eilish’s speech was met with a standing ovation, but it also drew criticism from some quarters. Finneas, undeterred by the backlash, has used his platform to amplify his sister’s message.

Notably, Bad Bunny also used his platform to speak out against ICE during his Best Música Urbana Album acceptance speech for Debí Tirar Más Fotos.
