Nelson Peltz reacts to Brooklyn Beckham’s family feud
Brooklyn Beckham’s father-in-law, Nelson Peltz, speaks about the Beckham family feud. On Tuesday, February 3, Nelson Peltz appeared during the WSJ Invest Live event.
Wall Street Journal reporter Lauren Thomas asked him, “You have tons of experience negotiating high-stakes situations, particularly playing out in the public view. Particularly with your family. Your daughter recently…” Nelson Peltz interjected and quipped hilariously, “Has my family been in the press lately? I haven’t noticed that at all.”
Thomas asked, “But I just wanted, from your perspective, if you offer your family any advice on how to navigate such situations.” The 83-year-old billionaire replied calmly, “I do. My advice is to stay the hell out of the press. How much good did that do?”
He continued, “My daughter and the Beckhams are a whole other story. That’s not for coverage here today, but I’ll tell you my daughter’s great, my son-in-law Brooklyn is great, and I look forward to them having a long, happy marriage together.”
In his now-viral January 19 post, Brooklyn made some damning allegations against his famous parents. He wrote, “I have been silent for years and have made every attempt to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed (via PEOPLE).”
Furthermore, he clarified, “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled; I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
A source close to the concerned parties told PEOPLE, “David and Victoria have repeatedly asked Brooklyn and Nicola to meet and talk in order to move forward.”
