During a recent Q&A for The Cosmic Circus, Perez explained, “It mainly has to do with the concepts of magic that are explored in those shows. As much as this film is heavily based on the multiverse, time, and science, a good portion of it really goes into exploring the supernatural.”
He specifically pointed to the Darkhold, runes, and Agatha’s ability to absorb magic as elements that directly connect to Doctor Doom’s actions in Avengers: Doomsday. Perez added a cryptic warning: “All I can tell you is to beware the man who carries the Word of God.”
