Speculation continues to mount around Marvel’s upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars, particularly regarding the massive roster of characters expected to appear. The latest buzz, gaining traction online, indicates that the unprecedented crossover success of Spider-Man: No Way Home is about to be replicated and expanded upon.
Known scooper MyTimeToShineHello posted on X (formerly Twitter), “All 3 Spideys and Deadpool will officially return in Avengers Secret Wars and will have a big role.” This report aligns with the chaotic, universe-hopping nature of the Secret Wars’ potential storyline. While Deadpool is often visually confused for Spider-Man due to his full-body suit, the potential dynamic between the three canonical Peter Parker variants and the irreverent, fourth-wall-breaking Wade Wilson promises a fun take.
Bringing back the three live-action Spider-Men would be a monumental feat, and adding Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool to the mix would create a crossover event unlike any other. This rumor arrives amidst other reports about the scale of Avengers: Secret Wars. Industry insider Alex Perez recently stated in a Cosmic Circus Q&A that there is “a very high chance” Secret Wars will be split into two films.
Perez indicated that production, originally slated for this summer, may be delayed as the project enters a “conditional start” phase. He explained that this often happens when there is “a massive shift from what the production was originally looking like. For example, like one film now being split into two parts.” While a final decision may not be made until after Avengers: Doomsday premieres, the potential for a two-part Secret Wars shows the sheer scope of the narrative Marvel is attempting to tell.
Directed by the returning Russo Brothers, Avengers: Secret Wars is currently scheduled for release on December 17, 2027, following Avengers: Doomsday on December 18, 2026.
