Channing Tatum has undergone surgery for a separated shoulder. On February 3, 2026, the actor shared a black-and-white photo from his hospital bed on Instagram, wearing a gown and surgical cap. In the caption, he wrote, “Just another day. Another challenge. This one is gonna be hard. But whatever. Let’s get it.” Tatum did not disclose how the injury occurred, but he is known for performing many of his own stunts in action films.

Tatum followed the initial post with X-rays on Instagram Stories, showing a clear shoulder separation.

The 45-year-old also received a message of support in the comments from his girlfriend, Inka Williams, who wrote, “Big bad wolf ? we got disss.” Tatum described the surgery as “hard” and a “challenge.”

In a past interview with Variety in September 2025, Tatum revealed he had previously injured himself on the set of Avengers: Doomsday, set for a December 2026 release. He arrived at the interview limping and said his stunt double had to take on many of his physically demanding scenes. “It’s not about the pain I feel in the moment,” Tatum said. “It’s knowing I can’t take this back. And now I know what the next six months of my life will be like … I just hate getting old. In my mind, I’m literally still 30 years old — 26, if I’m honest.”

Tatum’s recent release, Josephine, won the U.S. Dramatic Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival on January 30. He stars as the father of a traumatized young girl alongside Gemma Chan and Mason Reeves, in a film directed by Beth de Araújo.
