Mark Wahlberg’s Flight Risk is doing well on streaming

Mark Wahlberg’s action thriller Flight Risk has gained traction on Amazon Prime Video. According to Flix Patrol, the film is currently ranking among the platform’s most-watched titles in several international markets. It has landed in the Top 10 charts in multiple countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand, indicating a strong interest following its theatrical release.

Released in U.S. theaters on January 24, 2025, the project was directed by Mel Gibson and scripted by Jared Rosenberg. Although its box office performance was moderate, the film has attracted fresh attention since becoming available on streaming.

In the suspense thriller, Mark Wahlberg plays a pilot flying across Alaska with U.S. Marshal Madelyn Harris, portrayed by Michelle Dockery, and her prisoner Winston, played by Topher Grace. Winston is a government witness being taken to New York to testify against a mob boss he once worked with. As the small aircraft travels over remote wilderness, the uneasy journey becomes increasingly tense.

Commercially, the film earned approximately $48 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo. Its reception among critics was mixed to negative, with Rotten Tomatoes listing a 29 percent score based on 131 reviews. Meanwhile, the audience response proved more favorable at 62 percent on the Popcornmeter.

In a review counted as “Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes, David Nusair of Reel Film Reviews called it “a briskly-paced thriller that fares best within its opening and closing stretches.” With its international streaming success, Flight Risk appears to be reaching a wider audience.
