Charlie Sheen & Ex To Resolve $15 Million Battle Over Sons Privately — Report

Charlie Sheen and his ex-wife, Brooke Mueller, are taking steps to resolve their long-running child support dispute behind closed doors. According to a new US Magazine report, the former couple plans to privately negotiate a settlement after Mueller accused Sheen of owing more than $15 million in unpaid child support and interest.

On Jan. 29, Mueller filed court documents requesting a delay of the upcoming hearing, which had been scheduled for Feb. 2. She asked the court to postpone the date to sometime after April 3, citing both parties’ attempt at a private resolution instead of continuing the legal fight in open court.

Court records show that Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller agreed to delay their hearing to hold private discussions over the alleged arrears, with Sheen committing to provide a detailed financial accounting by Jan. 30. That suggests a possible shift in a dispute that intensified late last year after Mueller accused the actor of failing to meet long-standing child support obligations.

Sheen and Mueller married in 2008 and divorced in 2011. They share twin sons, Bob and Max. In December 2025, Mueller filed paperwork alleging that Sheen owed her $8,967,600 in unpaid child support dating from 2011 through 2025. She further claimed that accrued interest added another $6.4 million, bringing the total to $15,386,000. Mueller also asked the court to order Sheen to cover her legal fees related to reopening the case.

According to the documents, Sheen was supposed to pay $660,000 annually in child support. She alleged he paid $295,000 in 2011, made no payments from 2012 through 2015, and paid $96,000 in 2016. In 2017, she claimed he paid $228,366 of the $660,000 owed, followed by $113,000 in 2018. Mueller further stated that Sheen paid nothing in 2019, 2020, 2021, or 2022. More recently, she alleged he paid $20,000 in 2023, $30,000 in 2024, and $39,000 toward 2025 obligations at the time of her filing.

“Charlie made full child support payments through June 2011,” Mueller told the court. “Beginning in July 2011, he made either partial payments or failed to make any payments.” Despite their financial dispute, the former couple previously reached a custody agreement. In 2024, Sheen filed documents revealing that he and Mueller agreed to continue sharing custody of their twin sons.
