Comedian Trevor Noah took a dig at Nicki Minaj and US President Donald Trump at the 2026 Grammys, after she was notably absent from the annual music award show. His remarks come days after Minaj declared her support for Trump, calling herself his “number one fan.”
Grammys host Trevor Noah pokes fun at Nicki Minaj and Donald Trump
The Primetime Emmy awardee returned to host the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, which took place on Sunday, February 1, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. In the opening moments, he was excited with all the artists around him, until he pointed out the “Pink Friday Girls” singer’s absence.
Trevor Noah then joked about Nicki Minaj while referring to her recent association with US President Donald Trump. During his monologue, he looked around the arena, naming popular artists. The Daily Show alum then joked, “Nicki Minaj is not here. She’s not here.”
The 41-year-old took a brief pause and said, “She is still at The White House with Donald Trump, discussing very important issues.” Noah then impersonated Trump and said, “Actually, Nicki, I have the biggest a–. I have it. Everybody’s saying it, Nicki. I know they say it’s you, but it’s me. Whop whop whop. Look at it, baby.”
In response to Noah’s joke, Minaj shared a post on X (formerly Twitter). She wrote, “Trevor refuses to come out the closet when everyone in the industry knows his boyfriend. Allegedly.” The post also included a photo of the “Super Freaky Girl” crooner wearing a pink cap that said, “Nicki was right about everything, alongside a photo collage of Jay-Z from 1996 and 1997.
Notably, Trevor Noah’s joke comes days after Nicki Minaj said that she was Donald Trump’s “number one fan.” She pledged her support for the President on Wednesday, January 28, during a press conference at the Treasury Department’s Trump Accounts Summit in Washington, DC (via Bloomberg News).
During the press meet, Trump invited Minaj to the podium, describing her as “the greatest and the most successful female rapper in history.” She then addressed the press and said, “I am probably the President’s number one fan. And that’s not going to change. The ‘hate’ or whatever people have to say does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more.”
