While his father and mother are reportedly looking for ways to reach out to their son, sources say, Brooklyn has told friends he now “doesn’t even refer to [David and Victoria] as parents.” Moreover, with his move, he is “setting boundaries” with them.
An insider confirmed the same to Daily Mail, saying that Brooklyn calls his parents “by their first names now.” Moreover, the source insisted that the 26-year-old “doesn’t think estrangement is a bad thing at all.”
In fact, “he sees it as him setting boundaries, taking care of himself, watching out for his own mental health.” And although the photographer-turned-cook “knows it hurts them,” he doesn’t “really cares [care] right about now.”
Beckham apparently took the step to go public with his message as he was “sick” of his parents fabricating stories about him, and his relationship with his beloved wife Nicola Peltz and parents, whom he once hailed as “the best mum and dad ever” for the family values they instilled in him, as per the outlet.
According to the tipsters, Beckham crafted his statement, which Nicola reportedly helped construct. “Nicola is part of it, for sure,” said another insider, adding that “she definitely supports him in this.”
However, the insider was quick to clarify that Nicola was “not the one who made the decision [to share the statement]. He did. She didn’t tell him to do it. He decided to.” The source further added, “So, you really can’t blame her. This was something between him and them, and he decided it was time to take the nuclear option.”
