Fans of Legendary Marvel Hero Will Be Dissapointed With New Report

A new rumor suggests that one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most prominent heroes, Star-Lord, will not show up in Avengers: Doomsday. This rumor comes shortly after the actor behind the character, Chris Pratt, played coy when asked about his involvement in the event film in a recent interview. Notably, Star-Lord played a sizable role in Avengers: Infinity War and participated in the massive final battle against Thanos in Avengers: Endgame.

Marvel’s legendary outlaw, Star-Lord rumored to sit out of Avengers: Doomsday

Star-Lord will reportedly sit out the events of Avengers: Doomsday, but show up in its direct sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, as per a new rumor from notable scooper MyTimetoShineHello. They wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Star-Lord is not in Doomsday, but he will be in Secret Wars.”

However, fellow scooper James Mack, who earlier claimed that the Guardians of the Galaxy leader would appear in the film and the Disney+ series Vision Quest, disbelieved the rumor. They replied, “lol, friend, i’m 100% sure that Quill will be in Doomsday, you can be certain of that!”

Ultimately, this is only a rumor, as there is no official word from Marvel Studios on whether the blaster-wielding hero will appear in Avengers: Doomsday or not.

This comes a few days after Star-Lord actor Chris Pratt told Jimmy Kimmel in a recent interview that while he wouldn’t tell the latter the truth about whether he was or wasn’t in Doomsday, he would tell Pope Leo XIV, whom he met in December 2025, the truth.

Notably, Star-Lord is one of several unconfirmed characters for Avengers: Doomsday, alongside his Guardians teammates, Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Hulk, among other unconfirmed heroes.

Doomsday premieres in theaters on December 18, 2026. In the film, the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, New Avengers, and Wakandans go up against Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. Anthony and Joe Russo directed the film from a screenplay by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely.
