Clyde Phillips shared a key update about Dexter: Resurrection ahead of its second season. The showrunner revealed new production details, including where and when filming will take place.
Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 finds its filming studio
Paramount Television Studios has chosen Sunset Pier 94 Studios in Manhattan as the filming location for Dexter: Resurrection Season 2.
The studio will open later this month. It has signed its first lease with Paramount, which will use 70,000 square feet. Filming will take place across two sound stages, with additional space for offices. The facility offers 232,000 square feet of total leasable space. It is located on the West Side Highway and overlooks the Hudson River (via Variety).
“We are thrilled to bring the second season of ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ to Sunset Pier 94 Studios and its state-of-the-art facilities and sound stages,” said Drew Brown, EVP of production at Paramount TV. Empire State Development CEO Hope Knight noted, “We’re proud that season one was filmed right here in New York… We look forward to welcoming more projects to Sunset Pier 94’s stages as this world-class facility opens its doors.”
Filming for Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 begins April 13, 2026, as confirmed by showrunner Clyde Phillips during an interview with Love It Film. Phillips stated, “We’re going to start shooting April 13th in New York.” He also revealed that the writing process is underway. The team is working to complete all ten scripts before production begins.
Clyde Phillips confirmed that the team will use block shooting to film Season 2, allowing them to shoot two episodes at once for efficiency. “We shoot two episodes at a time,” he said. Director Marcos Siega will handle six episodes, while the team is finalizing another director to take on the remaining four.
Phillips stated that Season 2 will premiere in October 2026. He said, “We’re going to start shooting in April, and we’re going to air in October,” mirroring the timeline of Season 1, which also completed production and premiered within the same year.
