Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce Aren’t Prioritizing Wedding for a Reason — Source

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engagement in August last year, but insiders claim they are not rushing their wedding planning. Instead, the couple is reportedly focusing on simply spending time together and enjoying a calmer stretch after a tough end to Kelce’s game season. They are surely going out on dates, but wedding planning is currently on hold.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are in ‘date-night mode, not wedding mode,’ per source

Recently, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce marked their first date of the year, stepping out for a low-key dinner at Funke in Beverly Hills on January 12. The outing comes as rumors around a possible wedding date and location continue to circulate — but Rob Shuter’s #NaughtyButNice on Substack reports that they are not rushing the plan yet.

A source told Shuter, “They’re not even halfway through the guest list.” They added, “Right now it’s more about enjoying time together than crunching spreadsheets.” The report speculates that one reason could be the uncertainty surrounding Kelce’s next move in the NFL after the Kansas City Chiefs’ 2025 season ended on January 4, with the team missing the playoffs.

A source claimed, “Travis is still figuring out if he’s playing next year,” adding, “They don’t want to stress over a wedding when there’s so much else going on.” Another insider noted, “Taylor is usually so meticulous about every detail, but with Travis, she’s relaxed. They’re taking it slow. The wedding isn’t stressing them out yet — they’re savoring the engagement.”

Moreover, Kelce has addressed his future directly. On the “New Heights” podcast, he said, “I’m still figuring out if I’ll play next season. I want to make sure my body is ready, that I can commit fully.”

As of now, sources say the wedding details can wait, and as one of the couple’s reported close friends put it, “The ring’s on, but that’s about as far as it goes,” adding, “No big meetings, no seating charts. They’re in date-night mode, not wedding mode.”
