Karl Urban & Priyana Chopra Fans Are Saying the Same Thing About New Trailer

Amazon MGM Studios unleashed the bloody, action-packed trailer for Priyanka Chopra and Karl Urban‘s pirate revenge thriller, The Bluff, which has fans already marking their calendars.

Fans can’t wait for The Bluff after extremely bloody trailer

Following The Bluff’s trailer release, social media reactions poured in on X (formerly Twitter), with viewers raving both about the violence and the casting. Posts ranged from enthusiastic hype — “Fire tho” — to star-focused excitement such as “Shirtless Karl Urban I’m on it” and “Can’t wait for this. Love watching movies starring Priyanka.”

Others leaned into Urban’s pop culture legacy, writing, “Will definitely watch this. It’s Eomer/Billy Butcher/Johnny Cage,” while another added, “Billy Butcher meets Bloody Mary? This cast is legendary. February 25th can’t come soon enough.”

Several fans also spoke about the film’s unapologetically brutal tone. One post read, “Ex-pirates. An island to protect. No escape route. This isn’t The Bluff — it’s stand your ground cinema.” Another summed up the appeal simply, writing, “looks dope. priyanka as a badass pirate? i’m in.”

The Bluff centers on Ercell “Bloody Mary” Bodden, played by Chopra, a former pirate who believes she has escaped her violent past. Now living quietly with her family in the Cayman Islands, her fragile peace shatters when her former captain, Connor, played by Urban, comes seeking revenge. “Why did you betray me?” Connor asks in the trailer, adding, “You think I would just let you slip away?”

The trailer shows Bloody Mary reverting to her old skills as she defends her son (Vedanten Naidoo), husband (Ismael Cruz Cordova), and sister-in-law (Safia Oakley-Green) using knives, swords, and carefully laid traps. In one moment, she warns her child mid-fight, “Look away,” before crushing members of Connor’s crew. Later, when asked how she could fight like that, she explained, “Your father didn’t marry me for my cooking.”

The film is directed by Frank E. Flowers. It will release on Prime Video on February 25.
