Nikki Glaser Skipped Sydney Sweeney Roast from Golden Globes Monologue

2025 was a very active year for all of Hollywood, and it looks like Nikki Glaser was all set to make it known with her Golden Globes 2026 monologue. In fact, she was also planning to be very vocal about how Sydney Sweeney had a rather difficult year, according to reports. It was laden with backlash, confusion, awkward exchanges, and a lot of self-defence. This would’ve been a razor-sharp joke about “The Housemaid” actress, but the comedian ended up cutting it from her monologue. This actually left her fans wondering about what she had to say.

Well, now, it seems like Nikki Glaser opened up about this during her appearance on “The Howard Stern Show,” so they really don’t have to keep wondering. Glaser explained how she chose to cut the joke because Sydney Sweeney was not in the crowd.

She even opened up about what the joke was and exclaimed, “Tonight is a night of celebration, but we can’t ignore that it’s a weird time in Hollywood.” Glaser added, “People just aren’t going to the theater to see things. If you don’t believe me, there was a movie this year where Sydney Sweeney played a lesbian who just bounced around in tiny shorts for two hours, and it made $14.”

The whole savage joke was about “Christy,” a biopic starring Sydney Sweeney about the undoubtedly iconic boxer Christy Martin. Alas, it ultimately became a major 2025 box office flop. This was a shame because Sweeney had undergone a significant, unexpected, and shocking transformation for this very different role.

In fact, it seems like Glaser was ready to make a lot of super savage jokes about a lot of A-list stars, including Brad Pitt, Sean Penn, Jonathan Bailey, and even the iconic Julia Roberts. Thankfully, she seems to have skipped over many of these, letting them off easily. Despite this, she managed to target Leonardo DiCaprio and Timothée Chalamet during her exciting monologue. Majorly gutsy move, don’t you agree?
