Michael B. Jordan is finally laughing along with the internet after a viral 2026 Golden Globes moment put his mom, Donna Jordan, in the spotlight. The actor recently addressed the awkward clip, saying his mother is “used to” women lusting over him.
Michael B. Jordan talks about his mother
Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Michael B. Jordan said the night itself was a blast, especially because he got to experience it with his mom. “I had fun, but my mom stole the show,” he joked. “I’m pretty sure all her girlfriends are, like, texting her and sending her every meme and every clip possible.”
The moment in question came during the Golden Globes broadcast when host Nikki Glaser made an NSFW joke while talking about Jordan’s dual role in Sinners. As the joke landed, the broadcast cut to Jordan and his mother in the audience. Jordan laughed and covered his face, while Donna Jordan looked away, skipped a smile, and calmly took a sip of water — a reaction that quickly got viral.
Kimmel directly asked whether his mother gets uncomfortable when women openly express attraction toward him. Jordan answered, “I think by now she’s used to it.” Further adding, “So she just gives a little eye roll and just kinda keeps it pushing. She doesn’t really respond too much.”
Despite how the moment looked on TV, Jordan made it clear there was no lingering awkwardness. He said the two celebrated together after the ceremony, especially after Sinners picked up wins for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement and Best Original Score at the Golden Globes. “She can hang,” he said. “We went to an afterparty, we had a little fun, she was dancing and stuff. Mama had a good time.”
Michael B. Jordan has brought his mom along to major events for years, including the 2026 Critics Choice Awards earlier this month. On the Golden Globes red carpet, Donna Jordan shared, “The messages that he tries to share with everyone, with the choices that he makes and the work that he does. I’m very proud of that.” (via E!
