George Clooney thinks Quentin Tarantino’s diss on Paul Dano was Cruel
While Quentin Tarantino is widely recognized as one of the finest directors of the time, his opinions have often been controversial. The most recent one, which also became perhaps the most talked-about one, involved sharp criticism of three actors, Paul Dano, Owen Wilson, and Matthew Lillard.
Many celebrities also defended the three stars following Tarantino’s comments.
Now, George Clooney, who won the best actor award for Jay Kelly at AARP’s Movies for Grownups Awards on Saturday, addressed Tarantino’s criticism while accepting the award. “By the way, Paul Dano and Owen Wilson, and Matthew Lillard, I would be honored to work with those actors. Honored,” Clooney said.
The veteran actor and director continued about Jay Kelly, saying that the film “made by people who love actors — that’s an important part. People I’ve known most of my life… actually, most of them are actors. I have a great affinity [for them], and I don’t enjoy watching people be cruel.” He added, “We are living in a time of cruelty. We don’t need to be adding to it.”
Quentin Tarantino made waves after a recent podcast appearance, where the Pulp Fiction director claimed that Paul Dano was “the weakest f**king actor in SAG,” he “can’t stand” Owen Wilson, and that he did not care for Matthew Lilard.
In 2024, Tarantino also notably fired a shot at George Clooney, saying that Clooney wasn’t a movie star. Clooney told GQ back then, “Quentin said some shit about me recently, so I’m a little irritated by him.”
