Jason Kelce Slammed by Eagles’ Fanbase for This Reason

Jason Kelce is a Philly Eagles legend, but even heroes catch heat from fans. After the Eagles got knocked out of the playoffs by the San Francisco 49ers, Kelce came to offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo’s defense. That didn’t sit well with fans, who blamed Patullo for the team’s offensive struggles all season. Social media instantly blew up, with fans questioning Kelce’s loyalty.

Eagles fans call out Jason Kelce for this reason

On a recent Monday Night Countdown appearance, Jason Kelce broke down the Eagles’ 19-point playoff loss to the 49ers. Even with the team fully rested, quarterback Jalen Hurts threw for just 168 yards and one touchdown. A.J. Brown also dropped crucial passes that could’ve kept Philly in the game. Fans quickly pointed fingers at offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo.

Kelce, though, refused to pin all the blame on Patullo. “I know that everybody is out on Kevin Patullo. I happen to know the guy. I love Kevin Patullo. I know he’s a great coach. I know it wasn’t the best performance this year offensively,” he said. Kelce further clarified that they had the highest-paid offense in the league and still played “mediocre across the board.” He believes that that’s on the players. They could have won yesterday, but they just didn’t make the plays.

Fans didn’t hold back online, blasting Kelce for backing Patullo. One tweeted, “How are you defending his play-calling?” Another fired off, “Kevin Patullo is clueless. Yeah, the players made mistakes, but how can you defend those routes on the biggest play of the game?” Others summed it up bluntly, saying, “Kelce basically said he loves Patullo and blames the players.”

Philadelphia head coach Nick Sirianni addressed the situation with offensive coordinator Patullo. However, he didn’t give any clear answers about his future. “There will be time to evaluate everybody’s performance,” Sirianni said. He also showed concern for the players in the locker room and everyone “who worked so hard” ( via Pro Football Talk).
