Matt Damon shares what his wife thought about Ben Affleck

Matt Damon recently revealed in an interview that his wife, Luciana, called Ben Affleck the “cute one” after watching Good Will Hunting. On Monday, January 12, Damon and Affleck guested on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show to promote their new Netflix movie, The Rip.

Stern asked the duo whether Damon’s wife, Luciana, thought Affleck was the “cute one” after watching Good Will Hunting. The Martian star confirmed, stating, “This is f*****g completely true.”

The 55-year-old actor added, “After we’d been together for a little while, probably a few months, she admitted that — I think I met her best friend from high school and it came out that the two of them went and saw Good Will Hunting together, and her best friend thought I was the cute one, and she thought Ben was the cute one.”

Furthermore, Damon joked to his wife that she got the wrong one after all. He quipped, “So she admitted to me… I’m like, ‘You got the wrong one?’ She told me that 23 years ago.”

Stern, however, wasn’t going to let go of this juicy trivia so easily. He asked Damon whether the idea that his wife once thought Affleck was cute “stays with you.” However, the Gone Girl star stepped into the conversation and explained that Luciana is a producer on The Rip as well as Affleck’s next directorial feature, Animals. The 53-year-old actor lavished praise on Luciana as a producer.

He dished, “She’s a great producer and a really good friend, and yeah, I never got that vibe from her. So I think something I did in real life rubbed it off.” The trio laughed. Damon even jokingly added, “Finally she met him and all that went away.”

Interestingly, Damon and Affleck have collaborated on several feature films together. The pair has also produced The Rip under their production company, Artists Equity. The action-thriller feature drops on Netflix on January 16.
