A YouTuber decodes the secret Coca-Cola formula after a year of testing. YouTuber LabCoatz reportedly claims to have “perfectly” recreated the iconic cola drink. The YouTuber shared the video on his official YouTube channel with the title, “Perfectly Replicating Coca-Cola (It Took Me a Year)”.

It looks like a YouTuber has finally cracked Coca-Cola’s well-kept secret formula after a year of extensive testing. LabCoatz shared a 25-minute-long video with dedicated sections to every step of the process. Unsurprisingly, as of writing, the video has garnered 2.8 million views and 177K likes.
Fans know that the cola brand’s special recipe and ingredients have been well-kept secrets for many years. Fans believe that only two employees know the actual recipe at any given time. When an employee passes away, they share it with their most trusted successor. Consumers arguably consider it the best-kept business secret in modern history (via Dexerto).
LabCoatz revealed he spent a year studying everything possible about Coca-Cola, and based on his YouTube video, he has aced it. In just three days, it has become his most-viewed video to date. Interestingly, according to LabCoatz, Coca-Cola has not patented its secret recipe. Because in doing so, it would have to make the cola formula public. Hence, it’s okay to recreate and even sell this formula.
In the video, LabCoatz revealed he used chemistry to test different ingredients and chemical combinations to create a recipe identical to the cola drink. Major ingredients are listed on the label of any cola bottle. However, there is a mystery ingredient known as “natural flavors.”
According to the YouTuber’s research, these natural flavors reportedly mostly consist of cocaine-free coca extract. The YouTuber enlisted the help of his friends and collaborators to use mass spectrometers. This split Coca-Cola into specific, individual chemical readings. LabCoatz used that as a base and, with trial and error, recreated the formula for Coca-Cola.
The YouTuber has generously shared the detailed recipe on his channel for his subscribers to try and replicate it.
