Arguably the biggest sensation in Hollywood right now, Sydney Sweeney seems to have had a peculiar set of friends during her childhood, with one of them being a ghost. The Anyone But You star recently recalled an interesting anecdote from her formative years, wherein she discussed possibly having encountered a supernatural entity.
Sydney Sweeney talks about befriending a ghost
While speaking with W Magazine, Sweeney confessed to having “an imaginary friend” during her childhood, which ultimately proved to be a tough challenge for her mother.
“I think I’ve seen a ghost. When I was little, I used to have an imaginary friend. He would be on the playground at preschool,” she said before adding, “I would tell my mom about him. It turns out that he was someone who passed away before I was born! It creeped my mom out.”
Despite having imagined an entire person, or ghost, in her younger days, it has become hard for Sydney Sweeney to remember dreams nowadays. She disclosed, “I don’t even know if I’m dreaming anymore. I used to be a really vivid dreamer. I used to be able to control my dreams; I could lie there and orchestrate all the dreams that I wanted to have that night. In the last year or two, I haven’t really been able to dream.”
Even though “there are a lot of things that scare” her, Sweeney thoroughly believes that she is a fearless person. Explaining her simple ideology to tackle fears, the actress noted, “Usually, if something scares me, then I’m going to do it.” She also accompanied the thought with a real-life example, adding, “I have a fear of heights, but I jumped out of a plane and went skydiving. I’ll scream the whole way, but then I’ll want to do it again.”
Having dealt with ghosts in her childhood days, Sydney Sweeney faces a more psychological threat in her latest thriller outing, titled The Housemaid, that sees her in the role of a live-in housekeeper, who accepts a job offer from a wealthy but secretly sinister couple.
