While promoting her new thriller, “The Housemaid,” she talked about her fears in an interview, revealing that she has seen a ghost. Sydney Sweeney’s comments on the supernatural are being ridiculed, claims source

Sydney Sweeney’s comments on the supernatural recently made headlines. In an interview with W magazine, “The Housemaid” actor revealed a ghost story, claiming that she had seen one when she was little. “I used to have an imaginary friend. He would be on the playground at preschool. I would tell my mom about him. It turns out that he was someone who passed away before I was born! It creeped my mom out,” Sweeney claimed.

Recently, a senior studio source told RadarOnline that her comments have reportedly been ridiculed privately. “Execs hear her talking about ghosts, and they don’t see depth,” they said. Adding to that, the insider mentioned that “people are openly joking” and mocking her for giving them “reasons to laugh her out of town.”

Another entertainment executive told the outlet that the issue has not been about Sweeney’s beliefs and faith in the supernatural. But it has been about “that powerful men,” who have reportedly been using this ghost anecdote to show that the actor “isn’t serious” to lead big projects.

The 28-year-old diva has been facing backlash for a while now. From her American Eagle campaign to donning a Marilyn Monroe look, Sweeney has dealt with negative feedback multiple times. However, it has not stopped the bombshell from focusing on her work.

Despite her rising career, the star has allegedly become an easy target. “The fear is that people are no longer listening to what she’s actually saying. They’ve already decided who they think she is,” a producer claimed.
