London’s New Year Fireworks X Jet2 Holiday Meme Crossover Is a Must-Watch

London’s iconic New Year fireworks just got a side of sass. The city welcomed the new year by hilariously reimagining the stunning display as a Jet2 holiday x Wicked crossover. The meme-inspired sparkle fest left spectators and netizens in stitches. The clever edit has taken social media by storm, with users praising the unexpected crossover.

London’s New Year fireworks feature a Jet2 Holiday meme cameo

It is safe to say that London’s NYE fireworks were like no other. A staggering 100,000 revellers and millions tuning in from home were treated to a surprise pop culture crossover. The city’s iconic New Year’s Eve fireworks display incorporated the Jet2 Holiday meme, giving it an unexpected British twist.

As the Dazzle Fest mesmerised onlookers, artist Zoe Lister’s voice, (who rose to fame in her own right since the meme took off ), echoed the area. The reimagined version of the iconic catchphrase says, “Nothing beats a New Year’s Eve in London”.

The airline company’s iconic ad, “nothing beats a Jet2 holiday”, paired with Jess Glynne’s song, “Hold My Hand” went viral in 2025. The catchy jingle is now the go-to soundtrack for all the not-so-perfect holiday moments. From bad weather to plane fights, tantrums or tipsy mishaps, the ad makes for the perfect background score for meme-worthy holiday situations.

The now-viral display also includes a “Wicked” crossover. Cynthia Erivo, who portrays Elphaba in the movie, appeared during the fireworks. A video display featuring Ariana Grande’s Glinda and Elphaba flashed across the night sky as a pre-recorded message asked viewers to “embrace the magic inside” and “come together, for good”.

Having said that, the meme crossover garnered mixed reactions from viewers online. While some enjoyed the playful show, others found it a bit too commercial for their liking.

“Paid adverts – this can only get worse”, one fumed on X. “OMG this is iconic. London won”, a differing opinion read. “Yep this year was witty on top of excellent performance”, another echoed.
