Joe Rogan criticized President Donald Trump for his insensitive comments about Rob Reiner’s demise during his podcast episode. He called him out for lacking empathy and said there is no justification for the remarks made in connection with someone’s death. He further compared it to the reaction surrounding Charlie Kirk’s passing, noting that it reflected the same troubling situation in which a person’s death was celebrated.
Joe Rogan calls out Donald Trump
During his podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Rogan called out Trump for displaying no empathy over Reiner’s demise. Speaking to guest Shane Gillis, Rogan said, “The Rob Reiner thing is not funny. When you see it with no empathy, that’s when it’s hard to like.” He believes that there’s “no justification” for his insensitive remarks in this “compassionate society.”
Comparing Trump’s behavior to several people’s reactions over Kirk’s death, he explained, “It’s no different than people that were celebrating when Charlie Kirk got shot. It’s the same kind of thing. Imagine if Obama tweeted something about someone after they died in this way. That this person was a deranged person that hated Obama.” He commented on Trump’s way of thinking and talking, calling his insults “crazy.”
He mentioned, “It’s just like, the guy got sliced up by his kid, you know? Anybody that doesn’t see that and go, ‘F—, man.” Rogan added that someone should have taken away Trump’s phone to prevent him from making such insensitive comments publicly. He thinks passing such comments privately could have been a different thing, but would have still been “disappointing.”
Earlier, Trump sparked controversy after commenting on Reiner’s death on his Truth Social account. He wrote that Reiner passed away because of the anger he spread by opposing him. He said that Reiner died “due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind-crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS,” Trump elaborated.
