Over the past few years, things have been quite exceptional for Travis Kelce, who not only continued his brilliant run of form with the triumphant Chiefs but also had some big personal life achievements, which made him a global superstar.
However, this season did not end well for Kelce and the Chiefs. The Chiefs’ season turned out to be a disappointing one. The Chiefs will not make the postseason for the first time since 2014. They will also not get a chance to defend their AFC title.
In a segment with Tony Gonzalez for Amazon, Kelce was asked directly about his plans for the future. Kelce answered, “I think I’m still searching for those answers.” He added, “Obviously, the way this one ended with a sour taste in my mouth. I feel motivated, but I’ve got to make the right decision for me. I gotta hope that if I do wanna come back, that the Chiefs are willing to bring me back. It’s a two-way street on that (via New York Post).”
While Kelce did say that he loved the game and would continue till 50 if he could, it was dependent heavily on other factors, too. “I know when it’s over, it’s over,” he explained, “I feel like I still have a lot of love for this game, I feel like if I came back it’d just be to answer that flame in my heart that I still love this thing.”
