Amid the ongoing talks about Travis Kelce’s potential retirement, his teammate, Creed Humphrey, recently shared Kelce’s influence in the locker room. Not just Kelce, Humphrey has also had a lot of praise for one of his other teammates, Patrick Mahomes.
Creed Humphrey comments on Travis Kelce
In a recent interview, Creed Humphrey had high praise for two of the Kansas City Chiefs’ star players—Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes.
“They’re awesome,” the 26-year-old told PEOPLE. “As good of football players as they are, they’re just as good human beings. Being able to be around them and become close with them, it’s been awesome.” Humphrey further added that both athletes are “always bringing great energy” to the locker room. And despite any situation, they have “great vibes throughout the day.”
For the first time in 10 years, the Kansas City Chiefs have been eliminated before the NFL playoffs. They were officially knocked out after a loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on December 14, 2025. However, that’s not the only news that has surrounded the team. Currently, both Kelce and Mahomes are in the news for two very different reasons.
Mahomes suffered a torn ACL while playing against the Los Angeles Chargers. While Gardner Minshew replaced him for the remainder of the match, the team ultimately lost with a score of 16-13 in favor of the Chargers. He later addressed his injury on X.
On the other hand, there has been a lot of talk about Travis Kelce potentially retiring from the sport. While Kelce has not made any official announcements, he did address it briefly.
During a press conference in November, he said, “It’s one of those things where I’d like to make that decision before they gotta draft picks and free agency opens and give them an opportunity to go out there and fill the roster appropriately. All of that will be after the season. I won’t be thinking about it until then.”
