Avengers: Doomsday’s Teaser 3 Brings Back [Spoiler] After 11 Years – Report

Marvel Studios is reportedly preparing to debut a third teaser for Avengers: Doomsday, and it is expected to shift attention away from the film’s primary antagonist. According to new reports, the upcoming preview will highlight a different group of characters as Disney and Marvel continue to roll out an unconventional marketing campaign ahead of the film’s 2026 release.

Recent reports suggest that Avengers: Doomsday will not immediately feature Doctor Doom, despite Robert Downey Jr. being confirmed as the film’s chief antagonist. Instead, Marvel Studios may be saving Victor Von Doom’s full reveal for a later trailer or keeping him under wraps, similar to Galactus in The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

What will not stay hidden, however, are the X-Men, as per reports. Entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider teased the direction of upcoming trailers during a recent episode of The Hot Mic with John Rocha. While discussing Marvel’s rollout strategy, Sneider said, “So the second trailer, I think, is Thor, like you said. The third trailer is the X-Men. That’s where the James Morrison stuff came from and Cyclops.”

Sneider further clarified that the teaser features Fox-era X-Men, rather than a new MCU version. “Obviously, do you know who’s playing the MCU X-Men? It’s the old X-Men because it’s all the different people coming together, right? So it’s Captain America, it’s Thor, and X Men.”

Adding to the speculation, known scooper MyTimeToShineHello posted on X (formerly Twitter), “Third Avengers Doomsday teaser: Xavier, Mutants, Cyclops shooting lasers.” The post strongly suggests that Cyclops’ optic blasts will be a visual highlight of the teaser.

The first official teaser trailer for Avengers: Doomsday has already been released, featuring Chris Evans‘ return as Steve Rogers. The 80-second preview ends with the title card announcing, “Steve Rogers Will Return in Avengers: Doomsday.” Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to release in theaters on December 18, 2026, followed by Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.
