The actor was left speechless when his extremely lifelike wax figure outdid him in a pretty impressive way.

The Wire actor was left dumbstruck when his wax figure at Madame Tussauds London nailed the ultimate tech heist. Attaining the impossible, Idris Elba’s wax doppelgänger bypassed his phone’s facial recognition to unlock his smartphone via Face ID.
Madame Tussauds London unveiled Idris Elba’s jaw-dropping wax twin on Friday, December 19, capturing the actor’s essence to a T in uncanny detail. Dressed in the same sharp suit Elba wore to meet King Charles, the figure is so lifelike, the figure is basically him in freeze-frame.
In a video posted by the museum, Idris Elba can be seen appreciating the perfect execution. “Haha, look at this guy,” he said while admiring it, eyes wide in awe and disbelief. “I don’t know what to say, I’m speechless”, he added.
While dialling up his mom, Eve Elba, the 53-year-old playfully decided to try using the figure’s face to unlock the screen. Much to everyone’s astonishment, it actually worked. The Beast actor then revealed the statue to his mother, who was equally gobsmacked. “Oh my god!” she exclaimed, unable to contain her excitement.
Idris Elba also released an official statement, thanking the authorities and the skilled artists for bestowing him with the honor. “It’s truly an honor to be recognized in this way and even more special to know this other version of me will be standing tall in London,” he said. “So, even when I’m away, a part of me is always at home”.
“The process has been fascinating. It’s not dissimilar to prepping for a movie role—working with talented artists to flesh out the character, getting the costume just right, but this time it’s for me”, he further added.
