Sophie Rain recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to reveal whom she bet in the Netflix match between Joshua and Paul. She wrote that she bet on Paul and lost all her money, now having to recover it by making a video on OnlyFans. She wrote, “I lost $500,000 betting jake paul to win tonight’s fight. time to go make a new OF video.” A crying emoji followed her tweet. Fans had interesting reactions to her confession.
A user wrote, “Everyone was betting against him what made you do this.” Another added, “dying lmao, she’s going to make it all back with one video too.” A third user mentioned, “You really bet that much on Jake against a 2 time world champion.” Other reactions also included, “500k lesson learned: betting on hype is riskier than just pressing “record” and “soph that’s insane…”
During a post-fight interview, Joshua also addressed his victory and the criticism of his performance from the public. He admitted that it wasn’t his best display and that he’s aware that people wanted to see him KO Paul in the earlier rounds. Joshua said, “I appreciate everyone in this venue. It wasn’t the best performance. The end goal was to get him, pin him down and hurt him. That’s what people wanted; that was on my mind. It took longer than expected.”
Furthermore, he explained the challenges he faced while attempting to knock out, revealing that Paul kept getting back up and continued to try his best. “Now, Jake Paul has done really well tonight. He got up, time and time again. It was difficult for me in there. We give them their respect, he tried and tried, but he came up against a real fighter in there,” he added.
