Marty Supreme actor Fran Drescher recently spoke about the film in her latest Good Morning America appearance, where the actress compared a trait of Timothée Chalamet’s that resembles the late Robin Williams. The actress was also all praises for the Dune star.

Fran Drescher worked with Robin Williams in Cadillac Man, an experience that gave her some valuable lessons for her career going forward. She surprisingly saw something similar decades later on the sets of Marty Supreme, Josh Safdie’s first solo directorial.
Appearing on Good Morning America on Thursday, December 18, 2025, Fran Drescher spoke about working with Timothée Chalamet and how it was reminiscent of working with Robin Williams.
“There are some people that you work with that kind of like to be like the host of the project even though they’re the stars,” Drescher said on the interview, “Robin Williams, may he rest in peace, was the first one I worked with that was like that. Dan Akroyd was like that. I always thought, you know, when I’m a big star, I want to be like that.”
She added, “And Timmy is like that, too. So, you know, it’s really…kudos to him.” She continued to praise the young star and added how he had been brilliant since his very first roles. “He’s such a…He’s a fine actor. I have loved him since…I mean, in all his movies, he’s been good even when he was like a a a very young like a teenager,” she added.
In Marty Supreme, Drescher plays Chalamet’s on-screen mother. The film also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, Tyler Okonma, and Abel Ferrara.
It follows up-and-coming table tennis star Marty Mauser, who pursues his dream of greatness through many ups and downs.
The film will premiere on December 25, 2025, in theatres.
