Ed Sheeran details his fitness journey and showcases his impressive new physique in a new interview with Men’s Health. He revealed he underwent a major lifestyle change after embracing fatherhood. The “Sapphire” singer confessed how he is prioritizing a healthy lifestyle characterized by balance and moderation.

Sheeran revealed, “I would say I lived a pretty unhealthy life from 20 to 30. And even though I was doing professionally well, I wouldn’t say that reflected well into my personal life. And I do think that wellness is a direct mirror to mental health and the way you feel. I always felt like shit within myself; I’d wake up and look in the mirror and just feel gross.”

The “Photograph” singer admitted he has struggled with body image and low self-esteem even after achieving huge success in his career. Sheeran confessed he started taking fitness more seriously after becoming a father and wanting to be a more hands-on parent.

The “Perfect” crooner narrated how he struggled to tend to his daughter Lyra after consuming a bottle of wine and felt “dreadful.” This drove him to adopt a healthier and more mindful lifestyle for the sake of his daughters, his career, and his own well-being.

Sheeran remarked, “I didn’t want to pick my kid up and have my back fucked and stuff like that. And then also that feeds into professional life. You’re less resilient in your thirties. I was losing my voice more. I would pull muscles in my leg, pulled a muscle in my back when I was playing live.” He added, “I wanted to feel superhuman on stage.”
