A new report has emerged regarding Chris Martin‘s reported relationship with Sophie Turner. The report suggests that their romance is a ploy by the former to win back his ex-girlfriend, Dakota Johnson. Martin and Johnson, who were reportedly engaged, split earlier this year, ending their eight-year relationship. Meanwhile, Turner, who was formerly married to Joe Jonas, split from her boyfriend, Peregrine Pearson, a few months ago.

Chris Martin reportedly cannot get over Dakota Johnson despite moving on from her. A source told RadarOnline that the Coldplay frontman was “still hung up on her.”
A source alleged that Martin was only seeing Sophie Turner to grab Johnson’s attention. They added that the 48-year-old tried “several times” to rekindle his relationship with the Fifty Shades star, who wanted to break the “toxic cycle” of their relationship.
The source further claimed that Martin was unsure about marriage, due to which he never followed up on it. They added that Martin has been “trying to move on” since Johnson broke things off with him, but felt sad whenever he spoke about the latter. “He has a lot of regret,” the source added.
Meanwhile, Turner reportedly broke up with Peregrine Pearson — whom she began dating in October 2023 — in September 2025. US Weekly reported, citing a source, that the pair split due to “conflicting personalities.” The source added, “They tried to make it work, but they weren’t meshing, and Sophie wanted to move on.”
Turner and Martin sparked romance rumors in late October. The Daily Mail reported that the pair went on a “secret date” after the former ended things with Pearson. Around this time, a clip from Joe Jonas‘ Cup of Joe resurfaced, revealing that Turner was a Coldplay fan. The clip showed Jonas surprising his ex-wife on her birthday with a birthday message from Martin, which excited her.
US Weekly reported the following month, citing a source, that the pair had “gone out on a few dates in London.” The source added that while the duo’s relationship was new, they had “a lot of chemistry and a definite spark between them.”
The source also revealed Turner met Martin “years ago in passing” due to having “mutual friends in the music industry.”
“It was always friendly,” the source further stated. “Sophie has always admired Chris and was a big fan of both him and his music long before they ever met.” They continued, “She’s even joked that she used to have a bit of a crush on him, so it’s funny and surreal that they actually connected in a romantic way in real life.”
