Donald Trump’s recently announced Patriot Games, compared to Hunger Games

Donald Trump recently addressed a partnership with Freedom 250, an organization that will look after the planning and execution of events and activities for the 250th anniversary of America. In a recent video uploaded by the organization on YouTube, Trump also spoke about the new Patriot Games. “In the fall, we will host the first-ever Patriot Games: an unprecedented four-day athletic event featuring the greatest high school athletes,” he shared in the video.

“One young man and one young woman from each state and territory. But I promise there will be no men playing in women’s sports. You’re not gonna see that. You’ll see everything but that,” the President explained. People took to the comments section to express their thoughts on the same, with many comparing the Patriot Games to the Hunger Games. One user wrote in the comments, “Ah, so he watched the Hunger Games and thought that was a great idea.” Another commented on the video, writing, “Thanks President Snow! The first-ever Hunger Games in the US? LMFAO!”

The Freedom 250 website describes the organization as an “official public-private partnership that connects, aligns, and amplifies national and local efforts to deliver the defining presidential moments of this anniversary year.” Additionally, it describes the Patriot Games as, “an unprecedented four-day athletic competition featuring the nation’s top high school athletes — one young man and one young woman from each state and territory —celebrating excellence, teamwork, and American pride.”
