Harrison Ford to be awarded SAG-AFTRA’s most prestigious accolade
Harrison Ford has been part of the entertainment industry for seven decades and has remained a leading figure for more than six. One of the highest-grossing actors of all time, Ford has portrayed some of cinema’s most iconic characters, including Indiana Jones, Han Solo, Rick Deckard, and, more recently, Thaddeus Ross in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe).
This year, Ford will receive the SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award, the guild’s highest honor. The ceremony will take place on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall. The event will also stream live on Netflix.
Harrison Ford already holds multiple accolades, including an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, an Emmy Award, five Golden Globe Awards, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. He has also received the AFI Life Achievement Award, the Cecil B. DeMille Award, the Honorary César, and the Honorary Palme d’Or.
The SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award adds to this list. “Harrison Ford is a singular presence in American life; an actor whose iconic characters have shaped world culture,” SAG-AFTRA president Sean Astin said (via Deadline), “His career has been endlessly exciting, always returning to his love of acting. We are honored to celebrate a legend whose impact on our craft is indelible.”
After early television roles, Ford broke out with George Lucas’ American Graffiti. He later collaborated with Lucas again on the Star Wars franchise, which brought him global recognition. Ford also worked with Lucas on Indiana Jones, which Steven Spielberg directed.
Ford’s other notable roles include Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, The Fugitive, Air Force One, Cowboys & Aliens, and The Call of the Wild, among many others.
